Inverloch Foreshore Path - 5km

No visit to Inverloch is complete without taking in the spectacular ocean views from our famous foreshore path. Family friendly, this gentle five plus kilometre stretch of shared pathway is undoubtedly the jewel in our coastal crown. Take a break during your ride to fully absorb the panoramic view which extends from Venus Bay, over Bass Strait and beyond Cape Paterson. It is simply breathtaking. Along the way keep an eye out for our resident koalas, echidnas and vast array of bird-life who call our foreshore home.

At the eastern end of the foreshore path you will find the Broadbeach Trail, as well as the very relaxing Screw Creek-Townsend Bluff Nature Walk. Both are a ‘must do’ and offer a timely break from the saddle. Note that the Screw Creek-Townsend Nature Bluff walk is not accessible to bikes, but is still worth a visit.

In the heart of town you’ll find Rainbow Park, The Glade & Inverloch Pier. Each are great spots for the kids to burn some energy in the wide open spaces of our evergreen coastal parks and playgrounds.

If you’ve worked up a sweat, a rejuvenating dip in any one of pristine beaches is the perfect way to finish off your two-wheeled tour.

A day exploring the foreshore trail is highly recommended. A flat, sealed surface, this ride is suitable for all ages and abilities. Viewing platforms, public amenities, BBQ’s, dining and plenty of fun can be found the entire length of this picturesque, family friendly ride. Allow at least half a day/full day to properly explore the foreshore path.

Ayr Creek Riding/Walking Trail - 4km return

The Ayr Creek Trail is another one of the many hidden green-belts we have for you to explore. You will find the start of the Ayr Creek Trail at marker post #13 on the foreshore ride. Once you’ve found that marker, you’ve found the Ayr Creek Trail – a birdwatcher’s paradise. This narrow, winding track extends two kilometres north towards the Bass Highway and is a popular walk amongst locals. Note that you must cross Toorak Road which can be busy especially during the summer months.

Once you reach the north end of the trail you can retrace your route back towards the foreshore, or turn left at Toorak Road and ride back towards town in search of some other hidden gems in the form of our fine selection of hotels, cafes, galleries and wineries.

If you do make your way to town via Toorak Road, be sure to stop at the top of the hill and take in the view overlooking Anderson Inlet and Bass Strait. It’s always spectacular and never the same!

Broadbeach Trail - 5km

This short, picturesque ride starts at the Screw Creek/Townsend Bluff car park and curls its way through thick native bushland, before eventually popping out to a delightful section of elevated boardwalk. From this vantage point you get a perfect 360 degree view of our spectacular wetlands and its inhabitants. Keep following the trail and you’ll eventually loop back around towards the main entrance to the foreshore camping grounds. Or, you can turn right on Cuttriss Street and make your way towards the Bass Highway.

At the top end of Cuttriss Street you’ll find the dog-friendly Thompson Reserve and our local BMX track. This section of trail is especially popular with teenagers and pet owners.
